Three beautiful things from my past week:

1. Gramma comes through her heart surgeries okay.

2. We see The Rise of the Guardians, the story of how Jack Frost joins Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman in protecting children from the Bogeyman, at the movie theater. It’s good enough that I could see owning it in the future.

3. Christmas trees (including ours) are along the street awaiting city pickup. The odor of pine wafts through the air.

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world this week?

1. Seeing the relief on sprite’s face after hearing about the outcome of Gramma’s surgeries.

2. Seeing pictures and video of skiers enjoying deep powder in the foothills above my childhood home in Salt Lake City. The smile that I beamed made my co-workers chuckle.

3. Discovering a wonderful little café in Washington, VA, that has top-notch coffee, yummy baked goods, and openly invites cyclists to stay for a while. Welcome, Tula’s!

I’m so happy to hear that Gramma is doing well!

All our snow melted away when the weather turned warm, but then it snowed again. And then it got cold again, freezing the snow solid. I enjoy hiking loudly (crunch, crunch, crunch) through the woods.

I never know which animal Marshall is going to transform into or when. Yesterday he spent a great deal of the day as a dragon.

That is a nice question to ask! Gosh, hard to remember last week. I am glad your grandma is better.

We had some nice family dinners. The kids are happy and well. I went to a work function and saw lots of old friends I don’t see very often.

1. my cat slept on my lap with his head against my heart
2. my husband’s morning kiss and amazing hug
3. my 89 and 90 year old mother- and father-in-law played Scrabble with Bob and me and we had some good laughs.

Three wonderful things: We had a great writers group meeting. Hilde’s post on How are Schools instilling a love of reading in students got a LOT of comments. Susan started and improvisation workshop with The Upright Citizens Brigade.

My younger daughter and I took a trip to NYC this weekend and we had easy bus rides to and from, had a wonderful, clean hotel at a great price, saw a fun show together, and she had an excellent theatre workshop. So that’s four nice things, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to share!

Three wonderful things: Meeting a friend from out of town; getting investment advice and making a new friend in the process; finding the perfect Cow Parade cow for my bookshelf!
