restorative, seasonal treat, and new duds

Three beautiful things from my past week:

1. I was feeling on the knife’s edge of illness this week (there’s a bug going around school), so came home after work and got into bed and slept for four hours. Fingers crossed that did the trick. (So far, so good.)

2. I celebrate October’s arrival by eating candy corn.

3. I asked for more school gear so I didn’t have to constantly be doing laundry on weeks where I had multiple games. The athletic director accommodated my request, handing over a whole pile of shirts, including a couple long sleeves. I love the dark blue tech fabric and the fact that you can’t see through them, like the two white shirts I got last year.

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world lately?

back for a while, soup weather, and cookies

Three beautiful things from my past week:

1. Rudi returned home from his trip to Canada. I believe it’s his last trip away until after Thanksgiving.

2. Saturday was a cold, drizzly day of outdoor volleyball, and after we wrapped up, we decided the day required soup instead of our usual Mexican fare. Ramen perfectly hit the spot.

3. I baked for my middle school playing squad and for my jv team, since they both had games on Monday night. They appreciated the cookies.

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world lately?

cold, repaired, and ‘put it in the books’

Honestly. I just found this open in a tab, where I had written it but not hit publish. This is from last week:

Three beautiful things from my past week:

1. Awakening to a cat curled up tight in the crook of my knees because it is cold in the apartment

2. A bathroom that is 98% finished (the fan just needs to be replaced)

3. Remembering to tune in to Howie Rose’s final Mets radio broadcast (he stopped traveling with the team a few years ago, so the timing coincided with their last home game of the season)

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world lately?
