trick or treat swap
posted by soe 2:10 am

Way back in October, I received a goodie-filled box I haven’t yet acknowledged here on the blog, possibly because I was so guilt-ridden about the tardiness of my own outward-bound package.

The Trick-or-Treat Feet Swap was designed for knitters to make a pair of socks for another knitter and to send them off with some Halloween goodies.

Let me tell you, KT spoiled me. Not only did she knit socks long enough to fit my gigantic feet, but she went ahead and made them knee-high for me. That’s right. The Good & Plenty socks are tall enough for me to wear under my dress boots. Plus, don’t you just love the color?

And the treats? Wow…

KT has an excellent understanding of how fun Halloween can be. She sent toys:

Face Off

She sent stickers and a paper lantern:

Stickers!

She sent fun fabric, mysterious shoeprints, and a funny food container:

Lots of Loot

She sent tasty treats, notetaking supplies, and spooky spider magnets (I made people start at work when I stuck them on my lightplate — and Rudi and me jump (over and over again) when I added them to the kitchen cabinet handle right over the sink.):

Treats

And, in addition to a new Chibi (a little sewing needle case filled with the best needles for weaving in ends) and a “Yarn Requirements Guide,” KT sent me yarn. Not one… Not two… But three — yes, three — skeins of fabulously seasonal yarn, none of which I’d tried before.

New Yarn

Those would be, from left to right, Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino, Socks that Rock in the Rare Gems colorway, and Trekking XXL that Jeremiah is inspecting.

What a Package!

Truly, I couldn’t have asked for a more fun package. Every time I was sure I just had to be done, that KT couldn’t possibly have added anything else, I came across yet another goodie. Thank you so much, KT. And thanks, too, to Emily and Lynne for organizing a fun swap and letting me take part.

So this made me laugh so hard! KT really does know how to rock a swap – thanks for extending the fun. 😀

Emily, the swap was tons of fun, even if I suffered a few setbacks with my own knitting. KT was a lovely swapper, and Elizabeth was a very understanding recipient!
