It’s been the sort of morning where, running late, I took a large gulp of tea to finish my mug before heading out the door. Unfortunately, I coughed and swallowed at the same time. Let’s just say Della couldn’t understand why she and everything near the couch was suddenly covered in a particularly strong Ceylon…

Friday couldn’t come at a better time…

I’m disappointed. Let’s work on this.

… to become a king maker.

Given how well my friends did in the election yesterday, it would seem that I am ill-suited to sway local voters.

Luckily, the vote results also back my theory that when confronted with a large group of unrecognized candidates for relatively unimportant, totally unknown positions, the public will pick the top names.

we’re ready
posted by soe 12:26 pm

The window well has been cleared, the towels are down, the rug is rolled back, and the bookshelf is pulled away from the wall.

We have apples (and pie crusts).

Apples

We have a pot of tea (and one of coffee).

Tea Party for One

We have videos (and a Mets-Phillies game at 3:30 depending on the weather in New York later this afternoon).

Movie Selections

We have books.

Reading Pile

We have knitting. (Admittedly, Rudi may find that portion of the day less interesting. It’s okay. He’s got video games.)

A Bag of Knitting

The remnants of Hanna rolled in last night and are expected to drench us for the next day or so. But we’re ready…

And so are the cats.
