{"id":9771,"date":"2019-12-20T01:39:46","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T06:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spritewrites.net\/?p=9771"},"modified":"2019-12-20T05:19:17","modified_gmt":"2019-12-20T10:19:17","slug":"enchanted-swapped-and-funners-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spritewrites.net\/?p=9771","title":{"rendered":"enchanted, swapped, and funners-up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three beautiful things from my past week:<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spriteshoots\/49247180872\/in\/photostream\/\" title=\"Enchant\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49247180872_de74fa7c4c_w.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" alt=\"Enchant\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>1. Sarah and I got to check out Enchant, which is this massive light display\/maze\/Christmas bazaar they&#8217;ve set up in Nationals Park. We both knew it was going to be a little cheesy, but were hoping for cheesy fun (as opposed to cheesy lame), and it was. We drank cocoa and I ate a pretzel with raclette cheese on it (so it was literally cheesy, as well as figuratively). We found all Santa&#8217;s reindeer and told him what we wanted for Christmas, and we enjoyed all the lights and generally had a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spriteshoots\/49246500298\/in\/dateposted\/\" title=\"Reindeer Found\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49246500298_25424922e1_w.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" alt=\"Reindeer Found\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>2. My office had a holiday party this week, with a white elephant\/Yankee swap-type gift exchange. The person who ended up with my silly gift seemed pleased (she was the one who could steal from anyone at the end and instead opted to keep the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine), and when I offered the equally silly Taco-saurus Rex taco holder to a younger coworker after the fact, she nearly hugged me.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spriteshoots\/49247186617\/in\/photostream\/\" title=\"Tunnel of Lights\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49247186617_9b56dd60d8_w.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" alt=\"Tunnel of Lights\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>3. My <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spritewrites.net\/?p=9738\">volleyball team<\/a> came in second for the league this time around, but we remarked afterwards that the team who won hadn&#8217;t really seemed like they were having fun, and that if those were the two choices (it&#8217;s a false dichotomy, but go with me), we&#8217;d pick to lose, but enjoy ourselves together. We stayed after everyone else went home to play 3-on-3, and then a bunch of us headed out to the bar to hang out for a couple more hours.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/spriteshoots\/49247179952\/in\/photostream\/\" title=\"Enchant\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/49247179952_7cc68e0303_w.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" alt=\"Enchant\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>How about you?
