finding, polished, and clean

Three beautiful things from my past week:

UncensoredDC

1. I’ve found Halloween stickers, a missing knitting project, paperwork I’ve been hunting for, and The Handmaid’s Tale, one of the banned books the D.C. public library hides around town as part of its Uncensored D.C. celebration.

2. I painted my fingernails over the weekend in fall colors and did my toes during the week. I was hoping some seasonal colors would bring back the cooler weather, and the forecast suggests I was right. (I mean, sure, I had to wait a few days for it to take hold, but still…)

3. Twice this week, I’ve come home from evening volleyball games and immediately hopped into the shower. When I get out a few minutes later and put on pi’s, I just feel so cozy and relaxed.

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world lately? Check out other people’s three things (beautiful or otherwise) at Carole’s.

Hidden banned books is one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard. I’m so doing that next year.

I’ll be the banned book fairy.

Excellent finds! I always think about polishing my nails, but the doing rarely happens!

I love the idea of hidden censored books!

Beautiful in my world – good question that made me stop and think. 1. My husband finished our bathroom reno. It looks amazing and it’s so nice to be able to use the main bath again. 2. A new friend came and helped me weed for two hours yesterday. I *hate* weeding and it always goes so much better when you have someone else work alongside – especially someone who *loves* weeding and gardening. 3. We were invited out for dinner last night by another couple. I didn’t have to cook, we had a lovely meal, and a chance to get to know them better. Win-win-win!

I babysat yesterday and thoroughly love that job, my backache is slightly less achy, I’m almost caught up with blog visiting!!

@karen: I’m glad you’re feeling better!

@Karen: Finding any kind of book is pretty awesome!

@kathy: New pi’s are always a good purchase.

@Susan: Congratulations on the new bathroom! And you’re totally right about sharing dreaded chores!

@Gale: The D.C. library has done it for the past two years, and it’s a lot of fun.

@Kat: I think about it more often than I do it, but then I compensate by leaving it on my fingernails until it comes off on its own.

@Emily: You would make an awesome banned book fairy!
