Three beautiful things from my past week:

1. I went on a work trip to New York City today and wrapped up my day there with dinner with two dear friends from college.

2. My long-time volleyball team is reaching the end of our season, so we went out for an evening of drinks and laughter at a local bar.

3. At the zoo, Nicole and I took Juliet into the Ape House. We saw baby gorillas and orangutans, but even more fun was when a big gorilla plopped itself down right in front of us.

How about you? What’s been beautiful in your world lately?

Oh I love the zoo, but I feel guilty at them now. Read the book ZOO and it was disturbing.
Beautiful in my world: Someone I love has a stable diagnosis !!!!!
Going on a pumpkin walk tonight with HANDKNITS.
Beautiful : free pumpkin pillows that just needed a good wash!

I’ve been diving head-first into the furry community. Been to a few meet-ups, discovered a whole new world on Twitter. I’ve been practicing drawing and getting better and better.

I’ve made artwork for new friends who didn’t have any art of their characters, and then gone on to see them get more and more art from even better artists, all made possible because of my first gift, and that is just an amazing feeling. I’ve also had people get gift art from me and turn around and use it as their profile icon, which makes me happy too.

I’ll be going to a convention in December where I will get to meet some people I’ve gotten to know online. I’m making a custom plush for a friend based on his character. I found a lion pattern on etsy that gave me a base to work from, and have been making all kinds of modifications to match his character as I go along (the pattern was for a single color, his character is multiple colors; also he has wings and horns and spikes on his tail). My make-it-up has been working out so far and it is coming along great!
