Count me as a fan of Neil Diamond, not because he has the rare claim of being beloved by both New Yorkers and Bostonians alike (the former because he grew up in Brooklyn and the latter because “Sweet Caroline” is considered a good luck charm of sorts at Red Sox games), but because he was a frequent guest of my parents’ record player.

Thank you for the great Neil Diamond song and for remembering all of the musical guests we had. I happened to be reading “Poems that will live forever,” a book that you gave me in 1994. I still gravitate towards and love those epic poems. So back to them. “The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, the moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon the cloudy seas, the road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor, and the highwayman came riding…riding…riding. The highwayman came riding up to the old inn door.”

And heres another musical guest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ9j8rglu28
