final january weekend to-do list
posted by soe 1:17 am

Let’s be honest. I don’t get to half of what I put on these lists. I am great at letting things on lists go, at deciding I don’t care that they aren’t done. A half-done list creates no stress at all in me, so why even bother making them? I suppose because it puts in writing some of the options I could choose, should I so desire.

So, should I so desire this weekend, I might choose to:

  • Go to the library. This will almost certainly get done, because it’s my very favorite weekend activity.
  • Stop at the farmers market. Similarly, this helps add some shape to my Sunday.
  • Sleep in. I’m turning off all but the latest of my alarms, which I might still ignore!
  • Spend a lot of time outside. Saturday is supposed to be warm, so I have hopes I’ll take advantage of it (provided I get up at some point).
  • Buy toilet paper. Mandatory!
  • Paint my nails.
  • Hang out with Rudi. Maybe we can see a movie, but given his weekend coaching schedule, watching a dvd is more likely.
  • Change the duvet cover.
  • Register the car.
  • Stop by the garden.

Or I might choose to do none of it. What might you choose to do this weekend?

Lists + Weekends = multiple choice

We got up early on Friday to see the Maze Runner movie. Stopped by the recycling place on the way home to drop off cans and bottles, and at the library after that to pick up a DVD of Get Out.

Watched the DVD movie Friday night, followed by some DVRed TV including Agents of SHIELD and Vikings.

Finished reading A Wind in the Door and started in on A Swiftly Tilting Planet. Was able to get the last 4/5 books, but am number 50-something in line for A Wrinkle in Time – the only one of the series I’d actually read before and wanted to read again in preparation for the movie.

Got in a workout on the elliptical machine as well as Pokemon walks.

Tomorrow I’ll run a few friends through a game of Happiest Apocalypse on Earth.

@Grey Kitten: I need to find my copy of A Wrinkle in Time & reread it before I get too close to the movie, which I am *so* looking forward to. I loved L’Engle in middle & high school & read & reread everything she wrote, including many of her collections of religious essays, which my church library had copies of.
