who has the best sock pal?

Spring Green!

Why, I do.

Emily was my Bloomin Feet pal, and I have to say that she totally rocks, sending me a wonderful box full of goodness.

I mean, seriously. Look what she made me:

Socks from Emily

I love the way blue and brown look together. They remind me of my early spring garden — all earth and sky. And check out the picot edging. I don’t know how to do fancy edgings, so I’m particularly impressed by those people who do. And, folks, they’re made from Socks that Rock. I’ve never even seen STR in person in a skein, let alone in a finished sock. Very comfy!

I can’t believe Emily made these. For me. I mean, she doesn’t even know me and she sent me these beautiful handmade socks that took her many, many hours and even more false starts than I had with my pair. What a great knitter!

Check out how well they fit!

And while the socks in and of themselves would have been enough, Emily did not stop there.

Look what else she included!

OMG!

It matches my blog. And the capris I wore today. I admit it; I squealed. I have picked it up and paraded it around the house more than once.

Check out the rest of the goodies from the box — notecards and chocolates (how did she know we’d need some dessert tonight?) and the pattern for the socks she made.

Chocolate!

And she knew not to send the package to me so early that it would distract me from finishing my own socks or make me feel guilty about not having finished them earlier.

Emily, thank you! I absolutely love these socks. This was a terrific box to arrive home to last night. wore the socks all last night after pulling them out of the box and, since the weather looks cooperated by cooling off, I wore them again today. Who knows; maybe I’ll wash them tomorrow night and wear them again on Saturday to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.

Amanda, thank you for inviting me to participate in this swap, and please thank Mr. Clothesknit for pairing me with two lovely women. It’s been such fun taking part on my end — and watching how everyone else envisioned their projects at the same time.

I am SO glad you like your package! Thrilled even! The picot edge on the socks is a result of the pattern (isn’t that cool?!).

PS Oh yeah, that is totally why I mailed the box when I did…that’s the ticket…it’s not because I can’t read a calendar…not that at all!

(Would you believe that I wrote this comment over coffee this morning and am just now hitting send? It’s 4 pm.

Oh, oh. What a springy parcel and what a nice picture. One can really see how happy you are with this cute bag! Such a special gift. The socks are also extremely adorable. I’ve been lucky myself having had Emily as a swap partner once. She definitely knows how to surprise and treat a secret pal!
