Get yourself a copy of A Natural History of the Senses and read a few of the essays before you go. Edward P. Jones writes fiction that takes place in DC, so he'd be an interesting one to see. I have his most recent book of short stories and they're pretty good. BTW, I found you via a comment you left at Smitten Kitchen.
